In a recent sit-down with Mark Wells, Global Head of Product Strategy, and Steve Everitt, Lead Designer, Royal Enfield quietly confirmed the Himalayan 750 is real—and it’s more than a sketch on a napkin.
The mid-weight adventure bike is officially “beyond early prototypes” and heading into production. With a bigger engine, upgraded chassis hardware, and an all-new platform. Royal Enfield didn’t shout from the rooftops, but they might’ve just shaken up the mid-weight ADV scene.
What We Know So Far
It’ll pack a 750cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine—that’s 100cc more than RE’s 650 twins. Steve Everitt says it’s tuned for smooth, street-friendly power delivery and satisfying low-end torque.
Mark Wells confirmed the program has moved past prototype-testing in Ladakh and is now in pre-production, meaning factory lines will soon hum with Himalayan 750 assembly.
Royal Enfield is positioning this as its most powerful adventure tourer to date—yet it isn’t intended to replace the single-cylinder Himalayan 450. Instead, RE plans to sell both side by side, giving riders the choice between the lightweight trail-focused 450 or the muscle-bound 750.
“This isn’t a replacement—it’s an expansion. RE wants both 450 and 750s to live side by side.”
Launch Timeline
India’s launch window is scheduled for November 2025, with a global unveiling planned for EICMA 2025 in Milan. BikeDekho, among others, predicts an on-road price of roughly ₹4.50 lakh in India—though tariffs and options could push that number up or down. In the U.S., expect the base price to translate to the mid-$8,000 range, factoring in shipping, duties, and dealer margins.
Should You Wait for It?
If you’re riding a Himalayan 450 and happy with it—no rush. It’s still a great bike: lightweight, capable, and affordable. Fans are comparing Himalayan 750 price-power ratio favorably against rivals like the KTM 790 Adventure and Honda CB500X, both of which demand higher premiums or lack Himalayan’s simplicity and heritage.
Royal Enfield’s low-key confirmation of the Himalayan 750 speaks volumes about its confidence in the new model. Adventure riders should keep an eye out for RE’s upcoming press releases and the EICMA showcase in Milan.
